Betsy Mayes

Lecturer

Professor Mayes is a member of the American Institute of Certified Accountants (AICPA) and the North Carolina Association of CPAs.  She was awarded the 2007-2008 Distinguished Teaching Award for the Social Sciences, and she has published in areas specifically related to course objectives in peer reviewed journals such as CPA Journal, and Journal of Financial Planning.  Her research interests are individual income taxation, tax planning for college financial aid, elder care, and other related financial and tax issues.
